Ayo Edebiri Nation Rise
A whole article dedicated to Ayo Edebiri? Irish and Comedy Queen Ayo Edebiri? You bet! This is her month. She deserves it all.
I’m seated. The theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because “Inside Out 2 and The Bear Season 3 are not out yet” but I’m simply too seated.
(Little disclaimer: This is not a comprehensive guide to Ayo Edebiri’s works, past projects, etc. This is a post dedicated to me ranting about my adoration for her and my excitement for her new projects out in June.)
I have a few admissions (not bad admissions, just wanted to let the world know):
I follow Ayo Edebiri on letterboxd: I love her reviews. I think they’re the perfect mix between comedic and a review that gives me information about whether or not it’s good. Like have y’all read her review for M3GAN? Because every word? Exactly how I feel.
I first heard about her through Bottoms: Movie of the Summer anyone? Bottoms is my favourite movie ever (I haven’t watched many movies lmao, but still). My reviews for Bottoms after watching it twice in less than a month? literally eat and this is the most wild movie ever. i love it.
Ayo Edebiri and Rachel Sennott in Bottoms
I could rant all day about Bottoms. This is a classic movie, a movie MADE for the big screen and is as simketchupasta said on X (previously known as Twitter): “the best movie of the century” (resource). This movie is for the girlies, the gays, and anyone who likes fun ;) Unfortunately, this is a guide to me ranting about her upcoming projects so we’re gonna skip over Bottoms but y’all should watch it right now.
Anyways, Ayo Edebiri is starring in two projects this month. The Bear — ten-time Emmy winner — and Inside Out 2. Let’s start with The Bear.
I am a teen girl (older than 14). I have my Disney+ profile set to TV-14 because I’m too scared of adult shows. I heard of The Bear because of the Emmys, which I watched for Abbott Elementary (also featuring Ayo Edebiri hehe — also, that finale? SO DAMN GOOD).
The Bear were nominated for 13 Emmys that night, winning 10:
Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour)
Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series
i know that’s right!!
Outstanding Directing for A Comedy Series
Oustanding Picture Editing for A Single-Camera Comedy Series
Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series (Jeremy Allen White)
Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Comedy Series (Ayo Edebiri)
Outstanding Guest Actor in A Comedy Series (Jon Bernthal)
Outstanding Guest Actor in A Comedy Series (Oliver Platt)
Outstanding Comedy Series
Outstanding Sound Mixing for A Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation
Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series
Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)
Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation

The Bear Cast at the Emmys (2024)
That’s a stacked cast and list. First, I don’t want to hear you all say this was not a comedy. I’m not here to talk about that (there are GOOD jokes in this show and a comedy doesn’t mean there isn’t drama, so let’s not). I first watched this show after the Emmys and it was so good. I have rewatched it multiple times since then and I am obsessed with it. (The Bear Season Three is out June 27!!!!)
The Bear follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) who returns to Chicago to take over his late brother’s restaurant. That’s like the one-sentence summary.
This season, Ayo Edebiri will be making her directorial debut on episode 6, entitled “Napkins” (Like Forks? which is arguably the best episode of The Bear) and I am so excited. I am seated. I am eating it all up. I am so excited to watch this whole entire cast win more awards for their accomplishments (especially since Season 2 is eligible this voting period, meaning that the next Emmys will feature Season 2 awards — which features FORKS (ARGUABLY THE BEST EPISODE OF THE BEAR???)).
I am so excited to see Sydney Adamu’s (Ayo Edebiri) story develop and see what happens. So, stay tuned for maybe a review of The Bear??? Because I am so excited???
If you’re still here, I love you all. Because now, we talk about Inside Out 2.
That first movie broke me. That first movie tore my heart into pieces and made me cry an ocean. (I cry for every movie and tv show so idk if it means anything but that movie was so sad)
Inside Out was such a good story, especially being super young at the time. It was relatable. I was Sadness. I was Joy. I was Anger. I was Fear. I was Disgust. (This is full of red lines so if it doesn’t make sense I’m sorry).
Now, with the release of Inside Out 2 (obviously I am much older), but I am also all of these new emotions. I am for sure Anxiety (played by Maya Hawke?? My favourite???). Anxiety is me. (Also, Maya Hawke and Ayo Edebiri in the same movie?)
Inside Out 2 Still From Disney Movies.
Ayo Edebiri is playing Envy in Inside Out 2 — the cutest, most adorable little emotion that has such big feelings that it doesn’t seem like it’ll contain her. (Also, Inside Out 2 is out June 14!!)
I think this is going to be such a good movie. I am so so so excited. I am so so so seated.
I am so excited for Ayo Edebiri Nation to rise. I am so excited for people to see more of her acting, directing, etc.
Anyways, this was a really ranty, not very informative guide and mostly just me listing things. So if you read this, I actually adore you. I love you. Thank you so much for reading this whole thing. Until next time!
